WAC awarded care & support contract at Tennyson Court
Way Ahead Care awarded Tennyson Court, Taunton, Somerset
Way Ahead Care are very pleased to announce they have been awarded further contracts with Somerset County Council (SCC) to provide care and support services in Tennyson Court, Taunton. Tennyson Court is a brand new Extra Care Housing complex based in the centre of Taunton, built by Liverty (formally Knightstone Housing).
New forms of sheltered housing and retirement housing have been pioneered in recent years, to cater for older people.
Extra Care Housing is housing designed with the needs of older people and with varying levels of care and support available on site. People who live in Extra Care Housing have their own self-contained homes, their own front doors and a legal right to occupy the property.
Extra Care provides a safe environment enabling people to retain their independence but have peace of mind that assistance is available if required, either ad hoc or on a more permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the company and we look forward to working in partnership with Liverty and SCC delivering on this brand new integrated service.
Having already been successfully awarded 6 ECH schemes in 2017 we are confident that the addition of Tennyson Court will complement our portfolio of care and support provision throughout the local community.
Being a new build, with no existing care or support provision, we will be embarking on a large recruitment campaign to enable us to facilitate tenants moving into the complex so their care and support needs can be met.
