We are looking for ECH Scheme Manager who would be able to ensure the efficient running of the scheme. You will manage and supervise the dedicated care and support staff, to ensure the smooth running of the scheme.

Although we operate a values-based recruitment model for this role you MUST have the following:

  • 2 -3 years supervisory social care experience.
  • Good written, numerical and verbal communication skills. Professional working attitude.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable)
  • Hold or be prepared to work towards Gold Standard Framework Qualifications.
  • Hold or be prepared to work towards a Care and Management Level 4 or equivalent.

Salary: £26,171.60

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Extra Care Housing provision in line with the agreed specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Manage the dedicated care and support staff allocated to the scheme.
  • Working with the Registered Care Manager would create a wide network of partners from the local community matching needs of the tenants within the unit.
  • Providing a contemporaneous service for the tenants.
  • Foster partnerships with other agencies, the third sector and micro providers to enhance the general offer to the scheme and the opportunities it can make available to the people living there.
  • Ensure that the tenant’s Care and Support Plan is in place and reflects their needs and that their individual Community Engagement Plan (CEP) is in place.
  • Make tenants aware of service expectations and obtain feedback on the appropriateness of the service provided, including care and housing related support.
  • Ensure the promotion of a good community spirit on the scheme. Review the needs of tenants, at regular intervals.
  • Respond to emergency calls from tenants.
  • Ensure each morning that every tenant is well. This may be through monitoring support staff or by visiting yourself.
  • Ensure hygiene and Health & Safety regulations are followed.
  • Maintain effective systems, to record tenants’ details, incidents and emergencies.
  • Take responsibility for communal facilities for security, reporting of defects, supervision of activities if required, and general cleanliness.
  • Assist in ensuring that practices at the scheme comply with relevant policies, procedures and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Ensure our Safeguarding policies and procedures are followed in line with policies and procedures.
  • To investigate any complaints as directed by the Care Manager/Deputy Manager and action any outcomes in accordance with the Company’s complaints procedure appropriate to designated services.
  • Liaise with Care Professionals, Customers and their families in the day-to-day operation of the ECH. Manage the tenant consultations to proactively seek their involvement and comment on the service delivery.
  • Conduct staff supervisions and reviews where required. Conduct Annual Appraisals in accordance with the Company policy for all staff. Identify any training requirements and liaise with the Training Manager to address these issues where necessary.
  • Maintain the complete and accurate records and statistics as required by the regulations of the industry, contracts or company management.
  • Attend company meetings as required.
  • Undertake regular personal and team continual personal development and keep abreast of developments affecting the industry in particular legislative changes.
